March Babies

I guess there wasn't a lot that happened this weekend. I had a bunch of thoughts and crazy post ideas throughout the week but like many things I forget them If I don't write it down or think about it more than once. Oh well.

One thing I did notice this weekend was that every area or "scene" of Baltimore has a different crowd. I went out to Canton last night for the first time in the last 2 years, and I realized that there are indeed a lot of beautiful people out there in Baltimore. We'll call them the 20 somethings. Fed Hill is the typical college bar type of place, plenty of places to go drunk dancing and what not but Canton is more like the come after work for happy hour crowd. You know the semi-successful young people working their way up the corporate ladder. Something about this kind of guy attracts beautiful women. Just a thought.

Well I'm excited for the next two months or so. First of all my long term sub job starts tomorrow, and I get to teach flag football for 2 and 1/2 weeks. Yup thats gonna be a good time, for me at least. Next there's the April 8th Bachelor party...my first. Anytime we get together and go to Atlantic City its a good time, but with a real Bachelor party its sure to be craziness...just trying to not spend too much money ha. After that its the AA Easter trip....Petoskey family easter egg hunt...do I really need to say anymore? And then the moment I've waited 24 years for, my first Wedding the 2nd weekend of May. What better way to usher in my first wedding but with Tiffany and Porter...needless to say this won't be a quiet laid back affair.

We had our first track meet on Friday and our first and only Home meet Tuesday. I'm excited because I realized ALL my hurdlers are sophomores and 1 is a freshie so I get to not only let them run JV but coach them for 2 more years at least.

As for my love life...still single, and still not really getting into any trouble. I guess its for the best right now anyway because I'll be pretty busy for the next couple of weeks but I'll still keep my eyes open for any potentials. Apparently there are still many of them out there.

Final side note: When we do get around to opening our own bar...we NEED to have HOT bartenders. It's a staple and one I agree with. Plus they always have Hot friends.

A Family Affair....Part Deuce

As Promised.

TOP 5 Things that Made Saturday GREAT:
5.) Watching my lil sis Run
4.) "Blarty" 2 the Return of Jafar
3.) Hot/Wet Party + Cross Country party
2.) Cheyenne
1.) All the Waithes being together again.

BOTTOM 5 Things about Saturday
5.) Bouncing Back from Injury
4.) The "Suite" Pregame
3.) Wake campus on Sat. Night
2.) Wake Police Dept.
1.) Wake Girls are NOT DTF

Ok so this might be a long post, but bear with me. There were a million different things I could have talked about in regards to this weekend, so I focused on Saturday as a whole and the most and least amusing things that happened to us. In the first list, #5 is pretty good and #1 is the best, while the second list #5 was not SO bad and #1 sucked. Now let me explain what happened with each event to garner their placement on this list. I'll start off with the #5's and work my way to the number 1's.

TOP: #5 Watching my lil sis run:
This one should be pretty self explanatory. It's been since her freshman year in highschool that ive gotten the opportunity to see my little sis run. She unfortunately ran the same length career in high school as me in college so I was always racing and in season when she was. I spent a lot of summers in Mich so I didn't get to see much of her in the summer either, so pretty much it was just awesome to watch her do her thing. Yes a little sappy but true none the less.

BOTTOM: #5 Bouncing back from Injury:
So while it was great getting to see her run, it kinda sucked too. I mean she wanted to run really great for her family, unfortunately this was her first outdoor season ever because all of last year she was hurt. As any athlete knows, or anyone really, your first competition back from Injury isn't usually a pretty one so I felt bad for her because she didn't do as well as she wanted to. The reason why this isn't SO bad is because she stayed healthy and is on a road to doing great things this season, so thats pretty legit.

TOP: #4 "Blarty" 2, Return of Jafar
As Cass and Chin and Mike O should know, I like to refer to any sequel as the return of jafar because I think its funny, and I love Aladdin ha. In any case although we had such a unique experience at the first black party, my sister TRICKED us into going to another one! that little sneak, making us pile into a car promising a track party then taking us to another black one ha. But all was well as this time it was much more entertaining. Actually, when we got there the Wake rent a cops were breaking the party up, which was hilarious because you had the party organizers telling us "it's cool, you guys can stay, you're good" while the police were turning on the lights and turning off the music. Then her back up comes in looks right at Stevie (wearing his clemson hat) and says "if you're not affiliated with Wake Forest you need to leave the school." My brother then proceeds to take his hat off ha. Guess you had to be there to see the humor in it. BUT that is not why this makes #4. So it turns out this party was across the street from the party we went to on Friday, but this time the building was being used by a White Frat...So naturally we head over there leaving all the Black people hanging out, literally, in the street. After a couple games of beer pong (Stann and I finally lost to Stevie and Devon in a 3OT thriller in which Stann made 4 in a row to get us to the first OT) we noticed that all the white people were leaving, like this place went from being pretty full to empty in a matter of minutes. So we take a break from the table, sit for like 5 minutes and all of a sudden a wave of black people pour into the room. Like they were all waiting till the last few white people left to take over. The music changed, the lights went darker, and next thing you knew it was "blarty" 2! ha it was awesome really, to see how quickly a dynamic of a party could change. The amusement factor is really why this lands at number 4.

BOTTOM: #4 The "Suite" Pregame
Ok so you guys remember the dorms right? Those really big Suite rooms that held like 3-5 kids and had a pretty sweet common area and big bathrooms and all that jazz? Well my sis's friends live in Wake's version of this and let me tell you it falls quite short. First of all it was just 4 small rooms with a connecting hallway and a bathroom. No TV room, no kitchen, no nothing. Just a skinny hallway that you would find yourself in if you were running from some murderer in a horror flick. On top of that, these girls were dirty...and no not the good kind of dirty. The Cassie's room after a weekend trip kind of dirty. All 4 rooms had clothes scattered over the place, we had to climb over bras and panties to find a place to walk and we did not dare sit on any of the beds ha. BUTT this was only 4 because a couple things saved them. 1. This girl named Ivy who was pretty legit. Cute and had a great personality, so her humor led us to stay in her room most of the time we were there. And 2, free alcohol. Yup can't really complain about that especially when you're taking shots of patron. Well played boring wake girls who had nothing else really going for them. And lastly, the quote of the trip came from this pregame. Her name was Devon...yeah the same name as my bro's friend, and she apparently hadn't gotten any in awhile, Cassie esque ha ha. So this guy at the track party tells her he "wants to see her" so she gets all excited thinking shes about to get it in. So she prepares as any girl who wants a quickly would, going commando. Her Quote "I'm not going to wear underwear, will he think I'm a slut?"  Ah gotta love it, so many places to take this quote, I'll just let you guys have fun with that one....Later we learned that the guy didn't even show up to the party and I had to try really hard to restrain myself from sneaking a peek...really hard ha. But I guess this guy was either the man or gay because Devon was a cutie with a nice rack and even nicer butt...Oh Wake guys.

TOP: #3 Hot/Wet DKE Frat Party + Cross Country Party
Oh man where to start with this one, definitely the most interesting of the parties we found ourselves at this weekend. Its ONLY number 3 because no one ended up finding a girl to take home from either, even though we each were close and had one lined up at the Track party. But that's for later. Anyways After the White Party turned Black, we decided we wanted to move on, afterall we had heard that song  before and didn't want to end up being close to another fight. So we somehow managed to get the address for the Track party and the 4 Brothers (3 literal) took off on an adventure. The track party was themed, something similar to an anything but clothes party but called something else, typical distance runner stuff if you ask me. I call it a Cross part because NO SPRINTERS were there ha, they all avoided that place like the plague, so Naturally the 4 Brothers were the only Brothers there ha. A pretty common theme of the trip. Anyways the reason the cross party made it this high was because like I mentioned earlier, each one of us, within minutes, found a girl who seemed like she wanted to have a good time. We didn't really get their names but we called them by what they were wearing, it was pretty funny. My girl wore a NC State gymnastic leotard so we called her wolfpack ha. At some point, not sure when, kinda when I was in the middle of trying to start a dance party, by yelling DANCE PARTTTYYYY ha ha my bro and Devon decided they wanted to check out this HOT party people were talking about. Apparently Once a year this frat, DKE throws a crazy party and this year it was a HOT party...had no idea what that meant, or what we were getting ourselves into, naturally that was incentive enough for us to go. So we started walking in a direction a guy pointed us in, ran into a group of girls wearing jerseys (which we thought was kinda weird, but oh well) who happened to be going to the same place as us and offered to escort us there. When I asked them about the Jerseys they said, you can't go to a frat party here and not wear jerseys....????what the heck does that mean? Well we found out ha. Oh and also we all decided that we were recruits on a visit, who left our host to explore the campus, worked out well, mostly. So here we arrive to this mansion, typical UM frat looking house, tons of rooms and floors. When we walk in everyone looks like they were sweating rags. Like hair all post-sex messy and people were drenched. One guy (who we had seen earlier in the day because Wake is apparently really small) warned us that we weren't dressed for the occasion and we SOON found out how true that was. You all remember that sweet foam party we threw back in the 407 days right? Well imagine that x3. Instead on a pit in the corner of an attic, they had their whole basement flooded. Tarps and palm trees and bamboo and rainforests, it was crazy, and HOT water was flowing from all sorts of places. A side note, one of the track girls told me that she got E COLI from this house twice and thats why she wasn't going this time, and once I looked at the water I saw what she meant. It was pretty much a swamp down there. All kinds of whatever fluids laid in the water with beer and liquor and sweat and blood all mixed...Naturally me being the instigator, took off my shoes, rolled up my jeans, and jumped in ha. On my first tour through the forest I saw two sets of boobs, and just typical frat party mayhem going on, like people were having sex in the water ha. So I came back very excited and convinced the 4 brothers to join me. 3 of us were typical black people and wore shorts under our pants, Stann being the only one who didnt (and oddly enough this was my first time doing it, and at the hotel when I was getting dressed it just somehow seemed like a good idea). We jumped in the mayhem with promised of finding a girl who was down. Alas this is where this party with boundless potential falls short, the Wake girls who came to this frat clearly came with guys in mind as every girl was either wifed up or looking for a particular. But more on that later.

BOTTOM: #3 Wake Campus on Sat. Night
Short post. Basically we had a lot of walking to do on Sat so we saw all of Wake's campus and even most of it's off campus. Friday night EVERYONE and their MOM, literally, were out and about. Houses were partying and people were happy. SATURDAY IT WAS DEAD. and Not the walking dead kind of dead but the POST APOCALYPTIC EVERYONE IS GONE KIND OF DEAD. We saw a handful of people throughout the night, and yes they were the same people. I dunno what about this campus says don't go out on Saturday but everyone listened to it. So sad.

TOP: #2 Cheyenne
Ok so first of all, No she's not 46. And No I didn't even say "hello" or hook up with her in any way really. In fact the only thing I got from her was a nice dance and a facebook friend request. BUT let me tell you simply why she's number 2. She was hands down the most beautiful girl I saw while at Wake. The kind of girl that you see when you go to a big city and just KNOW she's OFF LIMITS and you could never get her. She was not only gorgeous but had a great personality, and hung out with us most of the night. And I guess a bonus is that her name is Cheyenne Woods, niece to the one and only Tiger. Yeah so I guess that's reason enough for her to climb to the 2 spot, naturally if anything had happened she would be 1. But maybe I can do the long range facebook flirt thing and put in some ground work for later because she is the kind of girl you Marry.

BOTTOM: #2 Wake Police Dept.
More accurately, the TWO police officers at Wake. First of all you have to have an escort to get into their campus, by car, after 10pm. They take their private school stuff seriously I guess. Second, this two officers followed only the Black people all weekend. Ok seems a little far fetched but I kid you not. We went to numerous parties that weren't broken up, but somehow the "nature" of every black party we went to made these two cops come in and break it up. I mean yeah I'm too old to worry about police officers anymore, but these two were just annoying. At least the lady cops in AA can sometimes have some appeal to them, a semi-cute women trying to assert herself, fine I can deal with that. But a BEAT women flashing a light in your face...ugh just annoying. They started at number 5 but every party they broke up made them climb to number 2, yes 3 parties just Saturday alone. I suppose their one defense is that literally it was the same black people walking to different houses, so they probably just followed them and kept breaking the parties up...still pretty annoying. Quote from a black girl "I feel like they're following me everywhere I go"...me "yes, yes they are."

NUMBER 1!: The Waithe Siblings together.
We are all personalities, anyone who meets any one of us knows that. Combine Stann, Me, Stevie and Annever, and put us at the same parties...just sheer madness and chaos, but the best kind you could ask for. Every personality type shone bright this night. Stann, the crazy drunk creepy guy at his best, at one party he was literally rubbing his hands and body all over a wall...when asked why he said he was "trying to fix the paintings on the wall" yup. Me I was the overly optimistic instigator. Getting everyone hyped for situations that I had no idea about. Making everyone strip into shorts and t-shirt diving into a murky swamp water in a basement. Stevie, most of you probably have not spent much time with him yet but he's the I'm going to dance really sick and get all the attention guy. Anytime any type of beat came on you could dougie to came on he went in, and yes he puts me to shame. He's got a weird smooth swagger about him and has no idea the potential he holds. Best of all, he STILL doesn't drink and has not even scratched the surface of what being the "life" of the party really means. Pretty much he's like a Stev 3.0...taller, and better dancer ha. And my sis, well she's the only girl, so it's like Stann if he was a girl. Outgoing, get's drunk quick and disappears on you ha. On Sat she disappeared at like 1, and we later found out she passed out at a friends room the FIRST party we went to ha. Classic Stann dipping out on you, which he did do a couple of times this weekend ha. So yeah its hard to really explain the dynamic of us all together, but just know it was something that can never be duplicated. Lastly, this was most likely the LAST time we'll all be together in this fashion, and it was the FIRST time we've all gone out to parties together, so just pretty special to me. Seeing everyone grow up and become their own individuals, very nice.

THE WORST THING ABOUT WAKE: Girls are NOT Down.
Ok so really the only problem here is that Wake girls are not open to meeting new people or rather random guys. I mean every guy knows about rejection, it happens often and regular and you move on. But the twin brother darknesses always at least get a girl to settle for, and my lil bro is no slouch either. It took me awhile to understand what was going on but at the DKE party it finally hit me. Wake girls are down, just not for random guys they don't know. Walking around Saturday made me realize that most people at Wake know each other. It's not like UM where you can meet a new person everytime you go out. Its literally my sister would see someone and know their first and last names. Crazy private schools. Ok so most of the time alright that makes sense, but even drunk girls at a frat party. I mean people were having sex in this swamp and girls would still ask, when asked to dance, "do I know you?" Like really, you can barely stand but somehow you know you don't know me. Granted there are not a lot of black people at Wake, and the ones there are all hang out together ha but thats never been an issue before. I mean I'm in no hurry to get to 46, because I'd like to stop at 50, a nice even meaningful number ha. But when you can't even really get a girls number or even a DANCE...geesh. I should say that if I went there it would be different, once you're in you're in. But for anyone visiting, like say a recruit who usually gets girls handed to him at other campuses, I can see why the really fast people choose the bigger Public ACC schools to go to. So when I say down I don't just mean hooking up, I mean down with meeting someone new and having a good time with someone they haven't seen before. The One noticed exception to this rule was the Cross girls. later in the night we all realized that while we got an adventure out of the deal, we would have had better luck staying within the track family, probably because they were more comfortable knowing we were affiliated with track in general.

Overall Rating: B+
I mean I don't need to hook up with girls to have a good time, most of the time I do need to dance though ha. So everything into account a B+ is a really good time at wake, even a great time but not the BEST time I could have had. Spending time with the siblings was a priceless time but one that could have been elevated more at any other campus ha.  So dear Wake Forest, thank you for opening your gates (as long as my sis was with us to let us in) and showing me what your campus is all about. I don't foresee myself wanting to drive the 6 hours to get there anytime soon, but if I'm ever around that area maybe I'll pop by for a hello.

A Family Affair...Part I

Most of you should know that I did not drink in high school. My first beverage was a PBR given to me by Adam Kiesler and Porter in their apartment where the whole upper class of the team watched me attempt to enjoy it. At the time i figured I would never drink again because well it tasted disgusting. 6+ years later i find myself enjoying all kinds of beers, as can be seen last night in my beer sampler at a local Winston Salem brewery and at the sampler frat houses gave us (more on that later). The reason I say this is because due to my lack of High School drinking I don't really approve of my siblings drinking either, or rather I just dont like it. While Cassie and Jane are close enough to age to enjoy drinks together, I just cant bring myself to drink with my sis, who's four years younger than me, or at least I couldn't really before. So my whole family came to Wake Forest to watch my sis run, the first time I've seen her run since before high school. She was pretty disappointed with her first day showing but after awhile we were able to cheer her up and go on with the day. If you guys have ever been to a smaller private college, that's what Wake's campus is like. It's pretty much a square of buildings and then various "downtown" festivities like restaurants and bars and such, but downtown is very far away and you could never walk there. It is a USC boxed in kind of feel to it. Anyway we all went to this brewery for dinner which had surprisingly great food and even better beer. For those of you who have never been to one, they are usually filled with local microbrews of all sorts and usually have a sampler of about 7 of them you can try. This place gave them to me in a 6oz glass, and the alcohol contents ranged from 3.75 to 9.5...needless to say that combined with the 3 beers I had before dinner left me feeling pretty good going into the night. At this point I figured my sister wouldn't be drinking because she has to race today, but that didn't stop her from taking us out and showing us a good time. Apparently at this school they accept that their students will drink, and thus they want them to drink on their campus rather than have to find a way downtown or off campus. As a result, they supply alcohol to frats on campus and parties are never broken up. Most of them happen to be in downstairs lounges but we went to at least 4 of them last night and they were all pretty legit. UM favorite PIKE was one of them and I guess even here at Wake Forest those guys know how to throw a good get together. Each Frat had a bar area you could go to to either get some sort of jungle juice or any variety of beers, including milwaukee's best( ugh, terrible), natty light, coors light, bud light, and ice's of each of those. All together a very well organized affair...The only downside I could think of is the fact that the average age of frat parties is always pretty low. I mean i'm 24 now so the thought of partying with 17-19 year old girls really has very little appeal to me...I wish I could say the same for Stann but yeah it's Stann ha. One random highlight of the night was when we decided to go to the "blarty" or "black party"...yes this was a party that seemingly EVERY black person on campus went to. Throughout the night it became obvious that we were the only black people at each of these frat parties, even more evident because we were rolling 5 deep. 4 siblings plus my lil bro's friend Devon. We were almost always gathered in a group so we kind of stood out and eventually at one party we were known as the Baltimore Boys. I thought it was kind of catchy....But this black party put us to shame. It was exactly like you would imagine a stereotypical black frat would be...minus lighhting. They tried to charge you at the door, there were a sprinkle of white girls who just really liked black guys, almost everyone played a sport (like 98% of black people at Wake are here because they play a sport) and the dancing was not PG-13...or even rated R. So we walk into this place and I kid you not its pitch black. The only light came in from the bathroom when girls would enter and exit, and when they did you always noticed them dancing in the bathroom like it was an extension of the dance floor, just crazy. I wish I could tell you I had a great experience dancing with some black girl, but in reality half the time you didn't know if it was a guy or girl you were rubbing up against, because it was PITCH BLACK....Black people hanging out in the darkness...pretty bad combination ha...At one point the lights came on (by mistake definately) and  let me just say that if I thought Michigan was full of unattractive girls I had no idea what they really meant...These faces, it was like seeing a monster for the first time. Yes not all of them were ugly but SO many of them were...it was like stepping into the light made them melt and they all scrambled for the light switch to turn it off in hopes that no one noticed what they really looked like...needless to say we left soon there after.

Another thing I noticed last night is that Stann isn't really much of a wingman. I can wingman him pretty easily, but its a one way ticket. Also, he like assumes any girl I'm talking to its a good idea for him to slide in the convo and try to work on her friend. It was pretty funny at times he would appear out of no where, mutter some incoherent phrase, get a dirty look from a girl (he was pretty drunk) and then disappear just as quickly. Classic Stann ha. But like i said the age of the girls was below my comfort level and I found myself and my little bro noticing the same girls...Def weird ha. i mean he's 18 and if he thinks a girl's cute she's probably around that age too. So there was an instance where this really cute girl sporting a backward Pirates hat came over to the beerpong table (where Stann and I went undefeated). After awhile we talked and she told her friends to leave her with me. At this point I'm thinking, ok, who leaves their friends unless they're down, solid. BUT since Stann and I kept playing, I could see i was losing her attention, in comes Stevie and Devon to save the day and pick her up. Moral of the story Devon ended up getting her phone number and they're supposed to hang out today ha. I should also mention they both pretended to be Freshies in college rather than seniors in high school, a moved well played. I never thought I would get cock blocked by the game i love, but anything that takes your attention away from a girl is sure to cock block you.

Another highlight of the night, before the blarty we left Stann at this one frat house dancing with a "Stann type" girl...if you don't know what that is then unfortunately you've never gotten to experience the type of girls he goes for when we go out. So we literally left him there dancing with this chick, and he didn't notice our absence until we were already almost back at the house we left him at. The blarty was like a 20min walk both ways, plus we stayed there for like 30 mins ha. Unfortuantely when we returned Stann wasn't doing work on a girl who was 100% dtf...no big surprise there tho since Stann is a notoriously bad closer.

That about wraps it up for part I, part II continues today with the big event being a track party. I'm sure it won't be like the ones we used to host at UM, but I am curious to see how these kids throw down. Look for a sunday night, monday morning post. Hope you all are having equally entertaining weekends!

oh and GO BLUE...doing work in the ncaa tourney.

Pinky Swears

I'd like to start this post off by saying that this was a successful weekend. I never really thought after last year that I would be celebrating St. Patty's again so soon and with day drinking but alas the opportunity of multiple purpose drinking could not be passed up. So this weekend we celebrated both Stann and My Birthday with the day of good ole St Patrick...a recipe for success.

Friday:
On Thursday night the siblings and I decided to catch the midnight showing of Battle LA. A very good and entertaining movie, so I took a two hour nap before the show because I had to wake up at 6 to sub on Friday. It was worth it. So Friday I had practice and school, which was nice because I got to hurdle with the hurdlers which is always a good time, afterwards we had a family dinner downtown at the Inner Harbor (nice place) at a Seafood buffet. After that Stann and I packed a bag and decided to stay downtown all weekend at Franklin's place because we have a meeting this morning (Sunday) at noon. Friday night was the night where I was still a little hesistant as in not so Go for it. The people out in Baltimore werent the usual, as most of them were staying in for the all day Sat activites, naturally we still went out. It was actually a great time as Stann's friend Adam was a big hit with the ladies for some reason that night. It was pretty much a guys night out dancing around having fun and attracting the attention of ladies that way. There was no 46 to be had this night but I was satisfied with a nice buzz and the company of some pretty attractive girls. I got two phone numbers,  but ended up losing them oh well.

Saturday:
So Stann texts me at 10am ready to drink. Or so he said but turns out he wasn't even at the house and when he did get here he wasn't ready to drink. So i cracked open a beer and had a couple waiting for Stann's lunch date to come downtown. Eventually we put on our green gear and headed to the bars for what would be probably the 2nd best Patty's day ever. 2nd only to Cassie and I being up at 7am drinking. Throughout the day I collected all sorts of beads and light up toys, which ended up being the perfect piece of flair necessary to spark conversations with girls. I traded beads, kisses, lap dances, and groping for all kinds of beads, necklaces, pins, and drinks. If i had to count, I would say that I made out with about 10 different girls, a surprise that I didn't catch anything. But there was one girl in particular, Erica, who has 46 potential. The only problem is that drunk me resorted to giving her my number rather than taking her number, which is a pretty rookie move and one that might lead to me never seeing her again. I know it seems like a good idea for a guy to want the girl to make the first move, but usually when left like that things rarely work out the way the guy wants them to. So for future reference fellas, always get the girls number and be prepared to make the first move. Anyways Erica and I danced and made out for an hour or two until Stann et company were ready to leave. Erica's two friends were reluctant to join us so I didnt want to take her away from them. Afterall it was only like 6 and I figured I had all night to meet up with her again. The only problem was I left a drunk girl with my number and name, and no way of reaching her, so Erica's story ends there for the night at 6pm sitting on a bar stool. Maybe I'll hear from her but I imagine I probably won't. The reason why this was the 2nd best patty's day was due to the people. Day drinkers are a special breed, and patty's day drinkers are even better. All ages come together to drink and be merry and everyone is just so gosh darn friendly. I cant really put into words the emotions that made the day so fun but just imagine being around cool people and drinking.

Another thing I developed last night was my new identity. You know how people ask you what are u doing now? the wonderful post graduate question. Well my answer is a nice half truth. ive started to tell people I coach and teach. I actually coach and I only sub, but its close enough. I sub anywhere from 3- 5 days a week now and usually work with the same teachers and keep their lesson plans on schedule. All the kids know me and even request me and they behave their best when I watch over them. I even get paid on the same schedule as teachers and come summer will be without a job like them ha. So for all purposes, I am a gym teacher and coach at Loch Raven High School. This identity actually worked wonders for me yesterday and thanks to my teacher network I was able to pretty much relate with other real teachers I met. This makes me want to kind of develop my own little playbook, at least for the random nights I decide to go out, just to see what its like. It's pretty easy to be myself, and that works well for me, but for people I know I'll never see again it's always fun to pretend to be someone else.

FYI I won't be drinking that much from now until I go back to AA so no more hooking up stories most likely, but you never know. Also Should I attend this bachelor party in AC or not? The bachelor is not really my friend, he's friends with Stann and his boys but I almost always go to AC( Atlantic City) with them when they do go so im just curious....I would rather save my money and buy a good SUIT!!

Resented By the Game

So my first weekend as a single guy...Bittersweet....

The bitter comes from two things. First I ended up seeing Kerry both nights, and not on purpose. That tells me that I REALLY need to find a new group of people to go out with, I mean its not weird for me but Im sure it makes her feel awkward and that just makes her no fun to be around at all. Probably too early for her.

The other Bitterness comes from the fact that it will take me awhile to get back into the swing of things. I mean most of the stuff comes natural, saying "hello" by means of dancing and what not is still pretty easy and very fun, but I find myself not willing to play a course solo. I guess I've been too used to setting guys up that it feels almost like I can't accomplish anything if I don't bring a bro along with me. This makes for a difficult night because well I don't have any bros (not the biological kind) to try and hook up ha. Like I look at two beautiful girls, and when I am deciding on which one to dance with there's a vacancy for the other one. I guess what I really want to say is that it is time for a wingman search. Apparently Stann is becoming the front runner though because his apparent relationship has come to a halt, and he claims it's for good this time. We all know Stann is the first guy to disappear though so I'm hesitant to stake my wingman claim in him.

Other than that, this weekend was great. My tooth still kills me, if you guys didn't know I got a tooth pulled on Thursday and it was by far the most painful hour of my life and I NEVER want to EVER experience anything close to that again. Had it lasted a moment it would have been fine, but I felt like I was being tortured for over an hour and I would never wish captivity like that upon anyone. If we're ever in a war situation, I'll just kill my enemies and spare them the prisoner of war part, ugh. Anyway so I had minor tooth pain but I decided to still drink a bit even on pain killers and antibiotics. Friday night I did a Towson tour. I had a very nice flirting session with a girl from Long Island, and if you guys know anything about New Yorkers she carried a really heavy accent, and that was attractive to me for some reason. When it came time to seal the deal though, I just didn't have it in me. I mean I was flying relatively solo and had no real incentive to want to go anywhere with her by myself, guess she wasn't worth the impending calling for a ride the next morning. But the reason this night was nice was because while it was a "laid' back night, I still had some of my "charm" from the old days. So yeah afterwards we headed back to Frank's gf's house, I was hoping her one cute roommate would be there but instead I was met with a drunk Kerry...so the night ended with a taco bell run ha.

So Saturday was another success, even more so then Friday. Stann and I headed down to the city around 7 and started a nice string of beer pong and drinking. We made it out around 11 and the fun commenced. We decided to hit up some empty bars and just be ridiculous on their dance floors, you know Ricks style. Just like the old days it started with people looking at us like "who are these kids and what are they doing" and turned into "hey look at those guys, they're hot lets dance with them" Highlighst from these couple bars were two SEXY girls making out and then smiling at us, a guy's girlfriend enjoying our company more than his, and watching Stann's now ex-Liz dance. She's like the grant till running except she thinks she looks good dancing, it's quite the show. When we hit our main bar for the night my luck was high and the drinks flowing. I danced most of the night with this one girl, her friends doing the same with mine. We said "hello" a couple of times and were generally feeling each other. She even passed the "bathroom test." For those of you who don't know the bathroom test is the biggest cock block out there. When either a male or female leaves the company of their dance partner to go number one, almost always the one left behind leaves and moves on to another. Or in my case, the girl never comes back, its just the way it works. But not only did she come back she had a smile, so of course I'm thinking at this point, all green from here. However, out of no where  her friends came over and said the 4 words any guy dreads "we have to go." Ugh, not sure why but alas the friends of a girl pulled her away from me, although it should be noted she made them wait for us to dance to one more song. So after a gentle kiss I'm expecting a number or something, what I get instead is "I'm not exactly available" or in laymen terms "I'm a tease" She hit me with the Mike O regular "I have a boyfriend" line...Man what a let down. But the night was saved with some pizza and my boy getting the championship threesome belt, good for him.

A little note, the naked man did not work last night. Perhaps it was because my friend decided to pull it with 5 other people in the room, or perhaps because it came out of no where, or maybe even because he didn't choose which girl he actually directed it towards, but indeed 2 out of 3 times it works.

For the rest of March I'll probably be going out sparingly, even if it is my birthday on tuesday. I'm trying to take it easy and go hard in April for another AA trip and then a bachelor party in Atlantic City. But of course I'll go out at least once this next week for Stann's b-day, which i'm sure a good blogging tale is sure to come.

Its not you It's me

"Breaking up is hard to move along is even harder..."

Seriously, I find it nearly impossible to say anything substantial when someone is crying on the other end of the phone. It was my preference not to do it over the phone, but she made it really hard for me to wait till we were in person. In order, for once, to spare some of the details for her sake I'll just let you know that at the very core of who we are, we are different. It's not the magnet kind of difference that attracts you to a person, its the basic difference that keeps you from ever crossing a certain line. It took me 5-6 months of spending all my time with her to realize this, but it just couldn't and wouldn't work out. I don't feel overly joyful, I could never really be after witnessing someone sound and appear so hurt, but when two people have very different ideas about a relationship, its nearly impossible to keep it going.

Here's a brief recap: I almost never have a girlfriend. I spent a couple of blogs deciding whether or not I was even ready/wanted her to be the one. So for me to FINALLY decide to dive head first in, that vast lake of a relationship better be deep and it better contain some kind of comfort that makes me willing to keep swimming until the end. Kerry didn't see the seriousness really in me deciding to date (mainly because she probably doesn't understand that bit of me) and thus was ok with taking certain things at a certain pace.

I am also at a very selfish point in my life. I need to find a career, get into school, and start a life for myself BEFORE I can afford to work on anything else. Unfortunately this was not to be in Kerry's case. She didn't really understand what a relationship was going to be with me at this point in my life.

A series of mis communications and non-understanding left me at a standstill point where it was either all or nothing. Once I realized that all was the wrong decision, all that was left was nothing.

I will do my best to be a friend to her, to allow her to work on her personal issues and be there, however I fear that she won't be comfortable enough with me as a friend to let me in. But I do hope for the best.

So thats it, a very non climatic phone conversation break up, but as many of you know it was definitely the best decision. I honestly believe that this break up will end up being a very good thing for her in her life, and help her set herself on a path that leads to many better things.

As for where I stand, where I want to be, on the bottom of a mountain, ready to climb to the top and see what the world has in store for me there.

Come April, I shall be ready to once again have misadventures with my 1502 roomies, until then its time to save and figure some things out.
